Follow the Shoe: Situational Baccarat with Keith & Kachatz1 | Strong Side, V87 & Knowing When to Stop
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this BeatTheCasino live session, Keith Smith talks with longtime Baccarat player Kachatz1 (Kevin) about how his approach evolved from betting regression to the mean into a much more situational style: play what the shoe is actually showing you.
Kevin breaks down the concepts he watches while a shoe develops, including Banker/Player strength, Opposites vs. Repeats, Strong Side, 4D/5D, V87, short-term patterns, attached multiples, recent-most-common behavior, and shoe changes. He explains that the goal is not to force one system onto every shoe, but to identify the best available situation and decide whether it is worth betting. Pasted text
A major theme of the conversation is knowing when to stop betting. Kevin discusses sitting back after losses, paper-betting or observing the next few situations, and waiting for the game to give you something clearer rather than feeling compelled to bet every hand.
Keith and Kevin also discuss how a Baccarat shoe can change as it progresses, why what happened in the first part of a shoe may not continue, and why players need to stay alert to changing conditions rather than assuming a trend will last forever.
They also touch on derived roads as a confirmation tool—something that can support a main-road decision or give a player a reason to pause. Pasted text

Okay, so we're here with uh let me move my camera down a little bit. Here with Kevin uh out at Kevin is out in Vegas here. I'm still at home. And uh Kevin, how you doing out there?
SPEAKER_02I'm doing well, thank you.
SPEAKER_00Uh that's good. So we wanted to um wanted to go ahead and and get this uh get this seminar uh going about uh well more of a live stream to put you on the spot here and uh get some answers. Yeah, I know that's kind of funny. Uh we wanted to get some answers to uh you know how you look at the game and how uh you know folks are always curious about how you play. So uh we wanted to do the live stream and and we missed you last time, so now you're back and making it up to everyone. And uh, you know, we'll see how we do. But uh listen, we never did this. Why don't you give a little background for those uh folks who are kind of new, um, and we have quite a few who are new to watching us and be at the casino and stuff. Can you can you give everybody a little insight of how you came about and where you learned to play and what you learned first? Uh, you know, about Black Rot? I think that would be very valuable if you don't mind.
SPEAKER_02Well, it's pretty simple because when I started Keith, the only thing that you was was really available in terms of learning, knowledge, background, whatever, were books that people had written. Obviously, they've written them to sell them. Uh, and so almost everything was based on regression to the mean 50-50, Black Rod's 50-50. So, you know, if it's going one direction too far, you just bet against it, you know. Bet that it'll come back to 50-50. Okay. So I did that for years. Um, I mean, I started like in the late 80s. Uh, my first time I actually played in Macau because I had a lot of business in China. So my I had some Chinese business partners one week and they go, Hey, you want to go to Macau for the week? I said, What for you go play Bakra? And I said, Okay, uh, I know how to play blackjack, I know how to play roulette, black ra. And they go, Yeah, so that's got got got it started. I played on and off. Um, there weren't very many casinos back then, except in Vegas and Detroit, and Biloxi and Atlantic City were the main four areas. So I just played when I was you know working and would go to a city and they'd have you know a casino or something. And it really was about 2014 when I got on the beat the casino forum. I found it on the internet, and the first one of the first things I realized was in a couple months was that I was playing backwards. Meaning I was playing regression of the mean, everything goes to 50-50 instead of play what you see, which in many cases is banker strong, player strong, opposites are strong, repeats are strong, something's strong. Just play that, you know, and sure it's going to change at some point, and then play what's strong then, you know. Yeah, that's that's a nutshell.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, no, no, I I remember the first um the first seminar that you came to was in we did it at my local casino here, Grandville.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, in Grandville, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I and you gave your segment and uh gave a little segment because you had played in Macau and stuff and got up and talked about that. And uh, you know, you were you were betting regression to the mean, you were kind of demonstrating that, and like our the whole seminar was about the opposite of that, you know, is it's what we should see, and we're scratching our heads there going, Hey, you know, should we let this guy keep talking? You know, ha ha ha. But you know, and that's the beauty of it. It's like you know, the the difference of perspective of how you look at the game, and I think it added a nice contrast. I'll have to have to dig that up, but uh anyway, so we wanted to um you know open this up and and the first thing uh that we want to talk about was uh you know, let's get some questions. If anybody has any questions, type it in the live chat. If not, I'm gonna I'm gonna type in um let me see if I can uh share this out uh or it might be fun uh to do this. Let me see. I don't know, can you can you see that screen? I can see it, yes. So, you know, this uh I'm gonna say a loud. This this version that I use is Chat TGP. I also use Grok and some other ones, but this one has a lot of information about uh beat the casino and strategies and all that stuff. So, you know, it'll know who you are. Um so let's kind of get a general question to ask it. Um what is is the basis of K-A-C-H-A-T-1 strategy?
SPEAKER_02There's two things.
SPEAKER_00Well, let me ask AI. I just want to see what it says um uh when analyzing. I want to see what it says uh for you. And I hope I hope you can I hope it's big enough to see.
SPEAKER_02I see it, I see it. It yeah, it comes up in a yellowish color on my screen.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, see it knows your conscious one is fundamentally situational analysis and system betting. The core idea, the core idea is bet what it bet the shoe is actually doing, not what you think is due. And and we did it, and then it breaks it down. You know, you always get a lot more information than than you ask, and it breaks down it. So so with that said, with that said, let's see. Let's if if anybody has any questions you want me to, hey gentlemen, how are you doing there? Somebody, uh PBJ Ron, hi Ron. Uh, if you have any questions you want me to ask, Kevin, just type them in the group chat down there. But uh let's go ahead. What let Kevin, what is it, what is what let me ask let let's see, pose a group of questions questions to ask Kevin about his uh strategy, and and let's see what questions it'll it'll come up with here to ask you, okay. I think it'll pose a group of questions to ask Kevin about his strategy and what are the most important aspects of it. And if anybody has any other questions they want me to ask it, uh please do. So so let's see what it comes up with. Absolutely. So for Kevin Catch us once, what is the single most important thing you look for when you first start analyzing a baccarash? Is the first question that AI wants you to kind of answer.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, there is just so you know, Keith, there is no single most important thing. Okay, what I do is um at a minimum, I take this to the casino with me. Okay, I'm gonna hold it up and maybe uh hopefully it'll be able to read that. And it just talks about banker player ops of repeats, O Tbl TBL, which you know, if you're on the forum, you wouldn't understand what that means. Uh Strong side, you know, the things that we talk about all the time, uh as becoming really the strategy is what's the best bet? Okay, do I play the first hand? No. Do I play the first couple of hands? Probably not. But if there's some strategy or I'm sorry, some trend or something like that, yeah, I'm gonna get on as quickly as possible.
SPEAKER_00Okay, okay, good good answer. Um, the the next question it wants to pose to you is sure when you say follow the shoe, what specifically are you following? Is it player banker strength, repeats, runs, formations, disparity, or or something else, or elaborate on?
SPEAKER_02Okay, so so let's try to boil it down here. Um I don't know, it was probably oh, somewhere around 2015, 16. You know, I kind of summarized what I had learned and and what it what you know I'd learned from the forum and what I'd learned by playing for you know many years. And I came up with a strategy at the time I called it 5D. 5D was uh the different disparities between bank and player and opposite and repeat and two back and three back, things like that. I later boiled it down to 4D plus the 10 best bets. And we came up, you and I came up with what we believe to be the 10 best bets in Buck Ride. Meaning when you see these particular scenarios occur, now's a good time to bet, whether it's opposite or repeat, or betting on you know a strong side or a trend or whatever. Um later on, to simplify everything, I moved to what's called V87, uh, not visual 87, which is you just play 87 of what all events in the shoe are, which is ones, twos, and threes. Okay, and so you're looking for uh plethora or extra or whatever you want to call it, uh a lot of ones or twos or three two in a row or threes, and you play that. We refined it to do it based on play the player side different from the banker side. I'm I'm really going fast and I'm summarizing a lot of things, but we found that if it if you focused on playing the player side might have to be different than the banker side, you know, how many banks in a row versus the player might be going one, switching one, switching one, switching something like that, for instance. Um, so it's really a combination of things that I'm playing, but I'm able to play them now because I've done so long, I'm able to play it without any clip notes or anything like that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I gotcha. So so that's that's really interesting for those who you know don't know any of our strategies, and hopefully that that helped you out. So we just did a video on the strong side, but H uh, yeah, HR. AI is asking you, how do you determine that one side has become the strong side? And and we just had uh a video about that. It was a shorter rather it took off actually rather nicely. And uh what what how would you answer that question? How do you determine that one side has become the strong side, Kevin? What's your criteria?
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna I'm gonna actually hold up from the uh document, Kate, that you actually created. We created together, but you create it, and if you can see this one, um, obviously the blue circles are player, the red circles are bank, okay. And if you you read across, you can just take a quick quick look. And what's happening in this particular scenario is the bank is just going one and switching to the player side. Yeah, player's going two, three, four, three, four, five, whatever. That's definitely a player strong side. Okay, so the idea is after the player switches, you know, yeah, you're gonna lose the last one where it switches back to the bank, but then the bank was staying one, so automatically you bet player. Okay, and then you just bet it till it stops.
SPEAKER_00And it it's basically weeks, it it's you know, it's generally characterized in in a lot of cases as a weakness on the on the opposite side, and right about it. And then there's other statistics, you know, that we look at, you know, if you want to get in depth, you know, come on over to the forum. But you know, that's the primary thing. So uh, you know, if anybody has any questions, go ahead and type them. Come on, Ron, put a question in there. Um, okay, so AI wants to know how important is player versus banker disparity in your analysis. I think you kind of just touched upon that, but go ahead.
SPEAKER_02You know, it's it's important, it's important, but you know, I think the the uh whole Bakarat game has kind of uh been geared with the tote board and everything else to get players to be focused on player versus banker, okay? And I think that's important, but there are some other things that are uh become evident, if you will, okay, like opposites and repeats and what we call OTBL or opposite time before last versus time before last, which is basically going two back. And is it going is the next hand gonna be opposite of that or is it gonna be a repeat of that? You know, yeah, it takes a little while to explain that, so I'm kind of rushing through that, if you will. But the ability, if you will, the ability to simply write things down, okay. Uh, in other words, create your own shoe. Uh I'm just gonna show you again, I'm gonna show you an example here, okay. Um, you know, what where where you kind of uh I'm just writing it down as I play, okay. And I'm keeping track of the bank side and the player side, but also I'm keeping track of things like opposite repeat, going that's one back, uh two back is OTBL on TBL, um, I'm looking at a lot of things simultaneously, but they're easy to look at if you are charting it as the shoe progresses. It's easy to do as becomes easier as you the more you do it, obviously.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I know I know you you're able to just a lot of folks like um have a hard time uh grasping it at first, but after a while, you you you're just I know yourself and and myself and a lot of other players can simply just look at the shoe and they can obviously just see the disparity, you know, without actually uh uh doing the the check boxes and stuff. So but uh and and that comes with a little bit of experience. But the nice thing, of course, is if you're playing at a table game, because the game is so much slower than stadium or online or anything like that. So I I noticed you know, you you generally tend to stick with the uh with the table games, and I I like it too, it's a lot more relaxed. So um, okay, what is the difference between recognizing a pattern and having a reason to bet that pattern? That's a that's a good question. AI came up with that.
SPEAKER_02Sure, sure.
SPEAKER_00Um that's a good question.
SPEAKER_02If one were to go back again, maybe five, 10, 15 years, you would uh you'd be able to find books about Bachrotter, you'd be look online or whatever, and basically uh mathematicians, statisticians, etc., will tell you that there are no you can't follow patterns. There are no patterns, okay. And they say that basically basically because in the long run, again, it's going to go back to pretty much a 50-50 split between banker and player. The difficulty in that is that if you follow that logic, one will miss the fact that lots of times there are patterns that occur, okay? Like two banks, one player, two banks, one player, two banks, one player, and they may hold for a while. Okay. So um, to say that there are no patterns or they don't exist, whatever, to me is yeah, yeah, they're gonna go away eventually. Everything goes away, okay. If nothing else is shoe-hands, then it's a brand new game, you know. Yeah, um, yeah, go ahead.
SPEAKER_00No, no, no. I and and we I I talk about a lot about that. Um, you know, and I I always um, you know, everybody likes to talk about the long-term odds, and of course, you know, there's a lot of things that we talk about with respect to that, but um, one is we're not playing the long-term odds, we're playing this shoe right now, and we're not playing every hand, we're not gonna play a million hands, you know. Uh, we're looking either for a trend or a bias within this shoe, right? And and the rules by their very nature, and and I always separate separate mathematicians from statisticians. Statisticians will look for bias and will look for trends within randomness and trends within, you know, maybe the shuffle is goofed up and the cards aren't random. But that that is a difference. Mathematician will always go, well, and it's easy to understand if you just keep throwing, if you play hand after hand after hand after hand, sure, that bias that you saw or trend in that game is gonna just dissipate into nothingness uh because you just keep throwing sample size at it. But you know, the the most important thing is to look at this game. Now, um, you know, it it could be you when you see that 2-1, 2-1, or whatever pattern uh is interesting to you, it it could be just pure luck that that uh you're betting it and it wins, and and that's okay. If it wins, it wins, or it could be a bias that you actually perceived within that shoe. Um, and it doesn't matter what well, it does, it's better if it's a bias, but if it's because of random chance, then that's okay too if you bet it. The other thing, too, with those smaller patterns, and I I talk about this a lot, and I uh I'll get back to the AI questions or any question anybody types, um, is that you know, to your point, the V87 uh solution, you know, uh 87.5% of all the hands are gonna be ones, twos, and threes. Well, if you think of that, then most of the patterns you see are gonna be ones, twos, and threes mixed up. You know, now you may see in one shoe there's a shortage of ones, or there's a high disparity between twos going to three, or vice versa, which is the things that we're actually looking for in the show. I I think you'll agree with that, Kevin.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and I think I think that the uh again, uh but we're probably taught from you know age three or four or five, whatever. Don't give up, okay? Just don't give up. You know, you've got to be strong, you've got to get through it, you've got to like stay to the end or whatever. And in Baccharat, that's the worst thing you can do. Yeah, that's the worst thing you can do. If you're losing, get up, go to another shoe, come back later, come back tomorrow, whatever. Okay, for whatever reason, your mind is not in tune with what's going on, or it is truly so random that there really are no patterns. There are no, there's nothing that you can, you know, hang your hat on, if you will.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, that's that's a great point, too. And that's that's of course the old set in your hand strategy. And don't bet unless you see it. Um, you know, if it's you know, how do you know? You know, somebody asked the other day, I think it was even on the forum, or might have been in one of the chats that we were doing is how what do you do when you're losing? You know, you you quit, you quit, you get up, you bit, you leave.
SPEAKER_02You don't get defeat, yeah. It's not a defeat, it's just you're you're signaled to move on.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, or or wait, wait for another day, you know, or try another shoe, or do something, but get out of the game because what you think is happening isn't happening, and uh, you know, it's important, it's important to recognize that. And of course, you don't want to keep trying to force overlay a system on it. Correct. That's the most important thing. So, so the next question that AI came up with, I think it's really cool too, is uh a really uh good good thing. Um, what what tells you that a trend is strengthening rather than getting ready to end? That's that's just a real good question.
SPEAKER_02Well, I think it's a good question, but I will say that there is nothing that tells you that it's ready to end, other than noticing that it ends or is ending, you know what I mean? In other words, if you're seeing player three, banker one, player five, banker one, player two, banker one, player six, banker one. Okay, whatever you want to call that, a trend, a pattern, uh a consistency, whatever. When all of a sudden the player goes one and the banker starts changing to two or three, whatever, it it's over. There's don't try to like think, oh, it's a temporary setback, it's just gonna be, you know, a little bit of time. No, we talk about this all the time. I believe that the shoe changes about after every 20 hands, roughly, roughly in most shoes, it's gonna change somehow. Okay, and why is that? If you take two decks of cards and you put them together, it's 104 cards. That is almost exactly 20 hands of the average bock rod play. Okay, so when they're putting the when they're assembling those eight decks and they're mixing them up and da-da-da-da-da. Okay, uh, about two decks uh of cards, so often it's gonna things are gonna probably change. And it and I mean I see it over and over and over. So you can't sit in a game and just say, Oh, it's just gonna go on forever. No, sometimes it goes on for a long time, and lots of times it's kind of short-lived. So the indicator that it's it's changing is nothing more than again, the the you know, keeping track, if you will, of what's going on, you know, whether you've done a lot of opposites, a lot of repeats, a lot of whatever it is, it's gonna change, you know, and and just recognize it and uh kind of wait it out and see if you identify another, you know, discernible bias, if you will.
SPEAKER_00I have it, I have another thought on that. You know, what tells you that a trend is strengthening rather than getting ready to end. And there's a couple things I always looked at um with that. And I I don't know, maybe uh maybe you'll agree at at least some level is that sometimes you'll see uh and in a in a long run. Now, I I I think the reason this happens, and I'm I'm trying to check myself because I don't have enough statistics on it. But and I I think you you've said that too, is after a four in a row, you you may see a start to see a tie on a strong side. Now, that's that's probably because that side is hitting more. If it'd be a zigzag a two and a one, maybe that tie would come up, you know, within that that sort of framework. But somehow a tie on the strong side seems to indicate hey, you may get another couple more on this side. Yeah, one thing to consider. We've just touched upon that. And yes, I don't I don't think we know either way yet, but it's something to consider. The other thing is something that, you know, a lot of Canada Bach talks about it. Um, you know, what and I talk about it too, is like a natural, you know, are you getting a lot of naturals uh on the strong side, or like what is the most common score on the strong side? You know, is it six or more? You know, it's the most common score seven, and the most common score on the other side is three. Things like that kind of gives you, I think give you some indication of how strong the strong side is. But to your point, you know, you've sat in there and and and done a five, six in a row on player and think you're invincible, and you know, you you you bet up and bam on the on the banker side, it's a natural nine, just just like that, you know. So I just some things to consider. Go ahead, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, I mean, here and stop right there. You know, the idea is is that the beauty of playing Bach Rat is you don't have to stay in the shoe, you don't have to sit there and wait until the shoe is over or till it, you know, maybe something comes up that you want to play again, or whatever. There's always other shoes being dealt, okay? And you don't have to play every hand. You go to a blackjack table, try to sit out one or two hands, and they're gonna look at you and say, Sir, ma'am, sorry, uh, somebody else might want to that see. They're not gonna let you just sit there and not play the hands, yeah, okay. Bach ride, you can sit there for a long time, if there, especially if there's other people at the table, you know what I mean? And they're not gonna make you so you can you can have time to analyze and and and look at what's going on and decide, you know, is is one side for whatever reason, you know, uh uh having more naturals, or uh after a tie, it always you know keeps going, or whatever the situation may be.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, now there's a lot of things to consider with that. Like I say, that's that's what we're always talking about. And you know, at Beat the Casino, we have players from all over the world talking about this constantly and what their experience is, and then you know, we decide to do a study on it, and some other people do too. But uh it's very interesting stuff, you know. And uh, you know, but you know, again, it it's it's like if you're playing the game of bakra, you can go, well, it doesn't matter what what what I bet, because in the end, the long term what look look if you if you if you buy into that, okay, then what you know, I always ask everybody then, well, why do you play? Yeah, you know, it's kind of funny. It's like, well, what are you even what are you even watching for? What why do you play? You're you will not look at the game from a different perspective from this is this shoe, this system. Now, if that shoe's random, okay, but it's only 72 hands, maybe we can see something, a trend in randomness or a bias within that uh within that game that we could we could capitalize on. So if you just constantly keep regurgitating the long-term odds, you'll you'll never open your mind up to something that may be a little different, you know. Uh, and and we all know those theories. I mean, you know, it's it's it's like I, you know, we all I mean, we have doctors, lawyers, and and and you know, mathematicians and status candlestick makers. And candlestick makers. You know, I I I mean, I always I don't say much about it, but I mean I have uh a master black belt from Villanova in in in basically Six Sigma, which is statistics, process flaws. And and so I know statistics, and uh, you know, these are the things that we're looking for in these games, and uh, you know, hopefully we can find it. But anyway, the next question is is really um uh kind of um uh very interesting. And let me see what it says. What what makes you decide? No, I I missed one. Oh, how here it was. How much confirmation do you want before placing a wager? If there is there's some way to quantify that, um Kevin, that that you would recommend to players?
SPEAKER_02You know, uh I I uh over time I've come to learn that you know, um as opposed to quantifying when to make a wager, it's it's kind of like knowing when to stop making wagers. Okay. In other words, if if you if if you if you lose one, you know, you say, okay, I you know, I'm you know, maybe I just wait a second. But if you lose two in a row, it's probably a good idea to sit back and you either paper bet or in your mind, you know, make a pretend bet, you know, as the next situations evolve before you get back in the game. Okay, yeah. Um again, uh there is no I Keith, you you you would know this better than me, but I know it's in the millions or trillions, the combinations of 72 hands of Bacrot with ties. If you put this it's it's something like a trillion or something, uh you know what I mean? If you if you were to lay it all out. Um so no, we can't keep track of that, okay. But what I what I what we can do is we can do things like this. We can ask ourselves, should I bet this hand or not? Okay, okay. Is it a bad bet? A bad bet to me would be a bet that doesn't make sense in the context of what's going on in the shoe, you know, because you think, well, it's got to go back to bank, you know, four in a row player, it's gotta go back to bank. Five in a row player, oh my god, it's gotta go back to bank, okay? Or is it an okay bet? An okay bet it just would be, well, I'm not really sure, but nah, yeah, I just feel like betting. That's not really a good idea, okay? What would be better is it a a good bet, a better bet, or what I would consider a best bet. Okay, a best bet would be what we were talking about earlier, you know, where you're seeing you can move that away from your face.
SPEAKER_00We yeah, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_02I'm trying to hold up to the camera in my hands. That's no, no, that's this is how I play, you know. But but but you know, uh uh, you know, again, I take this a casino with me. Here, I you know, I'll show everybody is. No, no, that's that's great. It it just looks like this. It's it's just a it's just a uh a book of scorecards, okay. And you know, they'll ask me it's gonna go well, what is that? I'll say it's just a scorecard, so rather using one of your scorecards, I'm just gonna use my own, and then I can accumulate these over time, and I can go back and I can analyze you know what's happened in different scenarios and bring it home. And I can say, Oh, you know what? I didn't see that when I was playing. I should have been getting onto that, you know, earlier on, or getting off of it as the case may be.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, cool, cool. Okay, well, that's good. Uh, let's go to the next one. Um, okay, so that was uh how do you decide uh to better not? And I, you know, I I think we that needs a little uh follow-up there. That that was such a great um example that you are our different perspective when thinking about it. It's more important to know when when to get to stop betting something. Uh and I, you know, that was of extremely interesting and insightful um uh uh thought that that you uh were talking about there, Kevin. I don't I don't think many people know it really was. It's like most people are going, should I make this bet? Should I make this bet? The next, you know, turning it around and going, okay, well, I'm betting here and I won. Well, I lost two, I should have stopped. Well, I won one and lost one and won one. Should I stop? I won four, should I stop? You know, that that's very interesting. And I'm sure there's variables that come into play. Like if you won four or five, it's like, well, where am I at for my for for this game, for this, for my session? You know, all those things come into play then too. So so that that's really uh you know quite an insight that uh that's you know, I hope people uh you know appreciate the the insight that is, and that only comes from years of experience, it's like, hey man, what when should I stop?
SPEAKER_02You know, and uh well the natural tendency, the natural tendency. I mean, I uh you know, I've played many thousands of games, not the whole game, but you know, parts of at least many thousands, if not the whole the biggest thing one will see of other players is they have a tendency to want to bet every single hand. Oh, yeah, absolutely where it comes from. I don't know if they grew up that way. I don't know if their mama told them, you know, you should you just have to, you know, if you're gonna do something, you have to do it all the time. I don't know what it is. I really don't. Okay. But over time, you know, you you I think one would be better served, if you will, by establishing a point at which they would start, you know, maybe holding back a little bit, meaning they've won enough. Now they're gonna wait and see, you know, they want to hold on to that win rather than giving it all back, which is a big problem. It happens all the time to people, and or they've lost enough that maybe they should leave the game or just sit and watch 10 hands or something. Yeah, no, I can't stop win and stop loss, in other words.
SPEAKER_00I I think where that comes from is one is you know that the casinos promote that, and uh you know, now it's especially with Stadium Baccarat, as you know, as we I mean, it's it's like playing a slot machine, man. They get you addicted to bet and they make it real easy to bet. You know, you just hit a button and you know you you bet your money. Uh so yeah, you know, it's a slot machine, yeah. And plus, if yeah, exactly. And plus, if you're setting at Stadium Baccarat, I mean it's like overload, like there's four games going on, and when we played in Macau, they had eight.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, eight, eight at the stadium, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00I mean yeah, it was I thought I thought it was the MGM, but MGM, I mean MGM.
SPEAKER_02I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00MGM Grant, yeah, yeah. In Macau, it's like look at this. There's like eight games in Stadium Baccarat that you could watch, and uh it was incredible. So, you know, there I think that's where it comes from. The other component of that, too, is is system sellers. Most of them, you know, when they came out years ago, or even just time before last. Well, time before last is bet um bet what but one uh one hand ago, two two hands back, time before last. So, you know, you get into a little FOMA of fear of missing out. Oh, I gotta get this in. I got I gotta get this bet in because I'm playing time before last, or I'm playing opposite time before last. So I think that's where a lot of that comes comes from. And I think that's just one of the subtleties uh of being a great player is know when to to kind of extinguish that compulsion to constantly bet all the time uh because you're gonna miss out. And I think you said it once too, Kevin, is that you know, even if you miss a bet, you're not worried about it because man, I I've got enough games here to last me for the next for a lifetime, you know. Pretty soon that situation that looks so good to you is gonna repeat itself very shortly. Pretty soon another one will be along, you know, like a streetcar. That's right. So so that was that was very good. Um so here's a good here here's a good question. Um how much importance do you give short-term patterns, such as one, one, two, two, zigzags, or five, two formations? I'm not sure where it got the five, two formations happen. Like one, ones, two, twos, so uh zigzags and terrible twos, I guess.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, well, in in the scheme of things, ones and twos before it switches, a one in a row, a two in a row, whatever before it switches, that's 75% of all events, yeah. Over time. So, yeah, I give it a lot of it. That's a lot of that's a lot of importance. And yeah, even yes, it's important to recognize that that that train may only last, you know, for a short period of time. Okay, so in the scheme of things, um yeah, it's important to see not just what is happening in the short term, but how does that compare with the long term? Which is it's gonna be 75% of all events are gonna be ones and twos, right? Right, exactly or two in a row, and then it switches, you know, goes back to the other side.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. You know, and I I think you know, it it's important to recognize to your point that you know 87 of the hands are gonna be ones, twos, and threes. So, you know, if you bet if you bet that way, betting that those things will occur, that just by the very nature of everything, that's not a bad bet, you know, it's not a great bet, but you know, if it it it it isn't a bad bet, just if you just want to go in and have some fun or playing a system. I mean, one of one of our approaches that we always talk about, or one of the classic approaches, is system 40, which simply you know, at its at its core fundamentally, it just bets opposites. So you're gonna catch all ones, twos, and threes, you know, it bets a negative progression into opposites. Uh now, if you don't run into any four in a rows, you're gonna win every three, three, three unit uh negative progression. So by its very nature, is most of the time they're all ones, twos, and threes. But anyway, and and terrible twos. Well, we've all talked about uh twos, Kevin. You know, we love twos. Yeah, terrible. I love it. When there's when there's a of course, you know, when there's a bias in twos, and we had a lot of guys study twos over the years, you know. Yeah, I I don't know whatever happened to Jimmy Bakraw, but I think he moved to Singapore or something. But yeah, and and so um so we've had a lot of studies about that, and you know, the terrible twos are interesting, and then you combine the terrible twos with attached multiples, you know. Are are they attached or are they happening and then a one in a row? And then, you know, th things like that are like very interesting to look at. And you know, one of the things we've seen with the derived roads is those patterns just tend to be longer, you know, attached multiples, red, black, red, black, or yeah, red, black, red and blue, red and blue, just go on sometimes forever. And sometimes you can use the derived roads to to to predict things of of terrible twos and zigzags and things like that.
SPEAKER_02So absolutely. They're probably outside of the scope of this call is the derived roads. That's a whole uh that's a whole new world for most people, and it um it's just another opportunity.
SPEAKER_00Um okay, so one of the ones it wants me to ask is uh what what are the three most important principles someone needs to understand to play the uh whether it's 5D or kind of the follow-the-shoe strategy um that we kind of uh are always a big uh advocate of. What what are the three things? Can you come up with three?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I you know, I'm not sure I can narrow it down to three, but you know, again, I'm gonna just hold this up, okay? This is a this uh it's an index card, right? Yeah, on the other side are real.
SPEAKER_00It's it's the the it's too small, everything's too small, Kevin. So maybe just read can you read them all?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh uh the first one's bank or player if it's strong, okay. I mean, that's easy. Yeah, I mean the scoreboard's either giving you a percentage or saying banks 32 and players 12 or whatever the numbers are, you know.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_02Uh opposite and repeats. Okay. That's easy to see if you look at the tote board. You know, the first line across the tote board, uh, if it's going opposite or repeat, you know, that of the one uh player or banker, the OTBL and TBL, which is something we teach on the forum. Okay, that's too bad. Okay. Second liners, you mentioned Jimmy Blackrat, and we mentioned Singapore and stuff. That's just simply uh twos in a row or more, okay. Strong side, um, we showed an example earlier where there was a lot of players and hardly any bank. Okay. Um, the V87, which is you know, looking at the ones, twos, and threes. Right. Uh, that's 87% of all the events. I mean, it's easy to follow. The the the patterns, okay. Um, you know, we talked about 2 1, 2 1, 2 1. You know, sometimes you'll see three, three, three. You know, you'll see a lot of threes, but it'll stop after three, things like that. Um, the shoe change. I mentioned briefly what that is, okay. And that is just, you know, something's going on, and all of a sudden, I ironically, somewhere around the 20th, the 40th, and the 60th hand of the shoe, it starts changing, and to be alert to that, okay. Is uh that's a piece of golden rule right there. Uh, the derived roads, whole separate conversation. Um, I'm reading right up my card, by the way. Uh, attached multiples. You just touched on attached multiples. I've never seen in a book, I've never seen anywhere. Does anybody else talk about attached multiples? Okay, no, I I never have. That's that's simply you know, you're playing along and it's one, one, one, and then it goes uh a three, and uh next to that is a two of the other side, and then a three, and then a two. That's an attach the multiples are attached, and then it'll go one, one, one again, or something like that, and then you see the multiples are attached again. Um that's that's like that's like golden, that's a golden gift to people to understand that. I don't know why they you know, whatever.
SPEAKER_00That that's it. That's go ahead. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_02No, I'm just saying it's not like this. What I'm getting at is it's not one, two, or three things because ultimately what you got to consider is what we call, and I'm just gonna hold it up, and then maybe you can't see it, most common versus recent most common. Okay, in other words, we play not just what's happening over the whole shoe, but what's happening in the last say 10 hands. Yeah, that's more important than what the whole shoe has done overall. Yeah, it's what trend is happening right now, okay. Um, I mean, that's the you know, again, it's kind of a laundry list, but a good player, and over time anybody can become a pretty good player at Bug Rat if they apply themselves and don't uh think that they're gonna win a whole bunch of money real fast, okay, and then they lose their money and they get discouraged. That's one of the biggest reasons people stop playing, is they think that they're you know, it is they're gonna get rich quick, and they're not. They're not.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So I we got a question here, uh Kuma 1991. What what is sit what is the situation bacra? And I think probably a little bit of what you talked about there, but if you want to just elaborate on that a little bit, he's asking, what is situational bacra?
SPEAKER_02Well, we just did that seminar, so anybody that uh gets on the forum here can see a whole bunch about what situational bacra is, and what it what in a nutshell, what it is is taking a look at what the shoe is doing between banker and player, how is it behaving? How is it you know one in a row, two in a row or whatever's happening, okay, and making a decision to make a bet according to what that trend, if you will, or that that that pattern, or whatever you might want to call it, continuing or not continuing. That means don't make a bet if you think it's a stop. So you're looking at the situation and what's happening between the banker, the player, the opposite repeats, things like that, and you're taking that situation and saying, is this worth making a bet on?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. So it's in a nutshell. That's what it is. In a nutshell, yeah, absolutely. Good question. You know, what is situational bacra? That's that's what we're looking for.
SPEAKER_02Well, that's what I play. I play situational bacra.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we all hand at all. There's guys who play situational back raw, as I've explained before you, and Kevin is certainly one of them. They're looking for specific situations, disparate, whether it be disparity or strong side or anything along those lines, mostly based upon disparity. And there's those who play game strategy, which is kind of bet almost every hand, do a lot of money management and go, okay, well, I'm generally going to bet opposites, no matter what I see. So that's kind of a game strategy, or something like what we used to call F, which was well, you just bet one side until you lose two, and then you switch sides. And that was kind of an all-hands type approach. So so all those things are uh are ways to look at the game and and situations. But uh anyway, the next question, any other questions there? Type them in. That was a good question. Thank you. Um, thank you very much for that, Kuma.
SPEAKER_02Um, yeah, we just had a seminar on it, so it's it's on the form.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, join join the club and you can watch all the videos.
SPEAKER_02We spent a day talking about it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, spent a whole day. Uh Kevin, two players can look at this exact same Baccarat show and come to completely different conclusions. What are you seeing in that shoe that an average player usually misses? That's a good question.
SPEAKER_02Well, I think again, um most people are conditioned, I think, to play banker or player.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02As opposed to a little more uh uh uh deeper insight is to playing opposites and repeats.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Or two back, you know, which is TBL to time before last, whatever that was, bet it again, or opposite time before last, based on what is happening in the shoe. And let me give you an example of all this, okay.
SPEAKER_00Um, I wish I had a shoe handy and I'd show it, but you might think next time we gotta remember is you gotta send me the shoe and I'll I'll screen share.
SPEAKER_02Don't you wish they all looked like this? Yeah. And I take pictures of shoes that I've played or I've seen where and and a good example of that is a tremendous like TBL shoe where it's like bank player bank player bank player bank player bank bank bank bank bank player bank player bank bank bank bank bank bank player bank player player player player bank bank bank bank you know what I mean that that's that's a a great TBL what we call TBL shoe. You might average it out and it's 26 players and 26 banks. Yes, because they're they're going, you know, bank player, bank player, bank player. That's just you know opposites. But there you go.
SPEAKER_01Can you see that?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. Uh yeah. I'm sorry, I wasn't looking at it, but go ahead, just show it again.
SPEAKER_00It's you know, it's kind of uh you you get the idea down here with mostly in a derived roads with oh, there it is.
SPEAKER_02No, well no, it's the look at the main road. That's TBL.
SPEAKER_00Well, it's kind of hard to see, but yeah, yeah, it there's that.
SPEAKER_02Well, there it is. Uh, I mean, it's an example. You got uh uh seven seven banks, a player, two two banks, then you got player bank, player bank, player bank, player bank, then you got five players, then you got bank player, bank player, four banks, then you got uh one player, then you got six banks, then you got player bank, player, uh you got seven banks. In other words, it's it's it's primarily time before last. There's a little bit of OTBL sprinkled in there, opposite time before last, but that's probably I'm gonna say if I don't I can't add it up real quick, but I'm gonna say that's probably about 40 TBL and maybe 12 OTBL, something like that. Now, banker and player, you can see bankers at 57 in that shoe. If anybody could see that, I don't know if everybody else can see what I'm seeing, and players 35.
SPEAKER_00Okay, yeah, right here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but um like I was just saying, the TBL, you know, part of it. And if you look down, like for instance, at the the uh uh the the the uh first um the big eye boy, um first arrived road, look how strong the repeats are. I mean, they're killing it compared to opposites.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely.
SPEAKER_02So those are the clues I'm looking for. You know, I'm looking all over the place.
SPEAKER_00Oh no, I know. I think that's that's the whole general consensus is you know, you kind of have to have all this under your fingertips, and then that's right. You know, you know, have presence of mind to to understand what you're seeing. Uh, another question, Kevin.
SPEAKER_02Take it to the casino with you. Take it with you. Take take your playbook with you, take your playbook with you to the casino. You can use it at the table.
SPEAKER_00Um also uh another question here. Can uh can you speak about uh also speak about shoe changes if you could? Um maybe some more a little bit more insight into a shoe change as I scroll through this thread here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. Um you know, again, let's let's look at the logic of it. If you've ever seen how eight decks are assembled by a a dealer, if you will. You know, let's let's go back to the days when they were taken out of a box. Okay, you took a you had eight decks of cards, you know, 52 cards, 52 cards, 52 cards, 52 cards, eight times to make eight decks. Uh usually in the United States, I'm not sure who we're talking about, but you're playing with eight decks, generally speaking. Okay. Um, if you take two of those decks and you mix them up, you know, you mix, you know, the um here, mix them up. Okay, you got 104 cards there, 52 and 52. Well, that 52 104 cards just ex almost exactly is the average of 20 buckrat hands at 5.1 or 5.2 cards per hand. You know, sometimes it's four cards, sometimes it's five cards, sometimes it's six cards to get a result, right? Everybody knows if you play buck rot, you know that it averages out to a little over five, which is about 104 cards, which happens to be two decks of cards.
SPEAKER_01Yes, okay.
SPEAKER_02So you take two, you put two more together, you put two more together, then they mix them all together, etc. etc. Okay. And if they do that 10,000 times, they're gonna get 10,000 different sequences of you know, 80 hands, roughly eight ties, okay. 72 playable hands, if you will, or you know, bank of player hands. Okay, so it just so happens that after about 20 hands, one needs to start looking for whatever's happened in those first 20. Don't rely on that to keep happening in the next 20. Now, is there going to be a transition? Yeah, probably so. Does it sometimes last for a whole shoe? Rarely, but sometimes yes. Okay, it's more of an alertness factor, it's more of an understanding that you can't just play one thing. You gotta have a you gotta have a list of things that you're looking at. Yeah, very that's a simple list.
SPEAKER_00That that's that's that's very interesting, and and and it's a great way to look at it. Like what happened in the first 20 is probably not gonna repeat in the next 20. So it's it's and and that that's a simple concept, you know. It's about our couple viral videos, and we talked about 50-50. You know, it's like right uh yeah, you know, uh what kind of that concept. Another question, uh and I'm sure I know what you're gonna say here. What is more important? The derived roads are the main road. Well, go ahead, I'll let you well, okay.
SPEAKER_02The main road is what we went on and what we get paid on. Okay, so I'd have to say the main road is the most important. Okay, right. The derived roads are basically the computer, if you will, keeping track of one back, two back, and three back events, what's happening, uh how's that's changing or whatever. So if you and this is really a whole different topic, Keith. I don't know that I don't really think we could cover it here. Um, if you become alert to how to read the derived roads, okay, they will help confirm in many cases what you think will happen next on the main road, which is where you place your bets, yes, or they'll give you reason to pause, they'll give you reason to say, I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so they support the main road decision, is basically a concept.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and or they they show you that it probably isn't what you think is gonna happen, it's gonna happen. Just don't bet, don't bet.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely absolutely. So, so that's that. So I want I want to take a second here, and and you know, we've been going for uh how long here? Everyone 50 minutes, however it is. But I wanted to show everybody, you know, if you want more information on this, and by the way, if you're watching this, please hit subscribe, you know. I it it helps support being a casino, you know. Um, and you know, if you like stuff like this, you know, me and Kevin vote our time to doing this. And by and by the way, if you're a member of our club, Kevin's in Vegas, you know, he's he's happy to chat with you. And uh, you know, when I'm there, I'm happy to too. And uh uh, you know, get breakfast and and talk about Bacchara and then play a couple hands. And uh so Kevin is is happy to meet with you. He won't play the first time you meet, though. So all it is is a conversation at first, and then later on we can get together and play a little bit, but we like to have a conversation and kind of get uh how you play and what you uh play. And if you're real nice to him, he'll buy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, you know, there's one thing that uh is uh just like uh the golden rule for me, and that is that there's not one way to do this. There is not. If if there were, boy, I wouldn't be we wouldn't be talking right now.
SPEAKER_00No, there wouldn't be any casinos either.
SPEAKER_02Exactly. Exactly. There's not one way to do this. There is a plethora, there's a multitude of things that one can look at, rely on, think about, consider, decide if that's happening or not in the given shoe, the given sequence of things, the recent most common situation versus the most common in the shoe, whatever. And this didn't all come overnight, Keith. That didn't you didn't learn this, or I didn't learn it overnight. And you know what? There's still no guarantees. There are no guarantees. I mean, yeah, again, there's some billion number of combinations of player and banker sequence, yeah. You know, and somebody someday is gonna see 72 players in a row or 80 players in a row or 81 banks in a row or whatever. It's it's happened out there, it's gonna happen out there somewhere, you know.
SPEAKER_00So uh, you know, wrapping up here in the last um last 10 or 10 minutes or so is I kind of wanted to get everybody always wants, you know, what we're doing at beat the casino. What do you get when you join, you know, and and and stick around, you'll like this too. Uh this is insightful. Like if I I'm working on the gallery, you know, and and this gallery is uh, you know, all the all the all the videos that we find most important, and I'm getting them all in here, moving moving them over from their own forum to in here. And here's all the the private videos that that will support you and and get you up to speed real quick. And this is all uh all our private member stuff here. Uh, you know, there's there'll be hundreds of them once I get done with moving them all over. Uh, but it you know, if if if you if you click this here, it'll take you to that. And then down below is the video. So that's what I'm working on in the gallery. And one of the real big ones now is of course, Kevin, and you know, uh the the three strategy by GBO9 there. Yeah. Yep. And for that derive roads uh information, there's the derive roads confirmation video that we talk about uh quite a bit. And uh, of course, there's a good old action Mike looking at us there. So uh that that's that's that you know, and it it's broken down into um uh you know diamond member videos, and when you go there, uh it's broken down into game strategies, situational approaches, disparity approaches, and then a miscellaneous category. So so four categories of videos in there, and I've been working on it real hard every day. So there's there it is. The other thing, too, is uh we get a lot about what you know, some of the older stuff, uh you know, just legacy stuff that we talked about. That's all in the in the downloads section as PDFs. Here's the two high net bet manual, the Nora Bakra manual, all already went some of these approaches, a million dollar Bakra, blackjack 101, and zero proximity. If you like to play blackjack, the 5D manual, of course, uh by Kevin, and all that stuff is in there. And uh, you know, it'll break it down by most downloaded. Also, too, what I wanted to show you uh if I get a little bit ahead here is all these new ones here are uh I'm archiving some of the best threads from uh from from 19, you know, 2011 and 2009. Uh and all you have to do if you wanted this here, you could just go in and and uh click this and it'll offer you the download. Took the whole thread and everybody in there and put it into a PDF and organized it for you. Like, like uh and and it it shows you here how how long the thread was like the the one from 2011 uh was called ADN. Yeah, inspired by you know, I don't know if you remember that. I think uh if I click on this, see if I can see the yeah, there was 292 posts in that thread. 24 members participate in it. It was from 2010, it's 12 pages long. So you you can go down, you can go in there and you can download uh this whole thread and read it at your leisure rather than having to to jump through the forum looking for stuff like that. So so just a lot of stuff that we're we're trying to improve on the forum per your uh recommendations. The other thing, too, is if you click here, here's the membership. Uh, you know, here's the diamond membership that gives you access to everything. Everything. There's there's everything's included. Go ahead. I gotta interrupt you.
SPEAKER_02I gotta I you you're giving this stuff away, basically, Keith. I mean, really, okay. There are hundreds of thousands of hours of information on the forum, literally. I mean, you know, I know there are. There's and and most casinos, the minimum bet is $25. Sometimes it's $10, sometimes there are five dollars. I know if you play online, you can even play for a dollar a hand, you know what I mean? Okay, but for how much money you're charging for like an annual membership, $399 or whatever, okay, or $40 a month. Yeah, uh, $40. What it's amazing to me that you can structure and put together all this information and and put it in a logical fashion that people can actually learn how to take advantage of. I mean, it's just an incredible value.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, yeah, and it's and I, you know, of course, the the most important thing, and I always tell tell people that is look, when you go into the private forum, you know, here you're talking to GBO9 from Australia, right? And it's three strategy. Here you're talking beating Baccharah every day. Okay, like there's a threat, and some of our best players, Hellboy from Australia, uh uh of course, Scooter, you know, all those guys. Uh McVince is is is in there and it and it's an sap approach. All that all that stuff uh is in there. If I can get to the bottom, I'll take you to the last page. But you can see how long this is from 2023. Now I I'm gonna go down to the last page. You can see how long we we work on this stuff. Um uh and you'll see the the latest threads. Yeah, here's Clint. You know, we're we're still refining this, and and everybody puts all the information up. Like you can look, and here's what I'm talking about that what's going on in my casino. Here are my cards, you know. These guys are great. They all want to, we all want to help each other. And uh, you know, I mean, I mean, just think about that. These guys have been working on this stuff and refining it and keeping statistics for years working on this one thread, okay.
